I completely empathise with your ideas of connection to food + cultural identity, and agree that where there's a will, there's a way. Jewish food & Hong Kong food aren't exactly vegan-friendly by nature, but re-creating the recipes of my upbringing and being mindful of exacting the flavours has brought me closer to those cultures.
