fascinating takes - I admit that I read the subject in my email (I'm a bit behind) and thought well, the writing has been intriguing but I don't really want to read about meat - and...a ha! what cross-cultural, modern twists here...great read, indeed.

Thank you for 1 year of this amazing blog! I've thoroughly enjoyed everything you've written in the past few months that I've been a subscriber. I'm glad you still get to enjoy the flavours of charqui, too!

I completely empathise with your ideas of connection to food + cultural identity, and agree that where there's a will, there's a way. Jewish food & Hong Kong food aren't exactly vegan-friendly by nature, but re-creating the recipes of my upbringing and being mindful of exacting the flavours has brought me closer to those cultures.
